The Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving quality systems within a rotational molding manufacturing environment. This role ensures products meet customer specifications, internal standards, and regulatory requirements through data-driven analysis, hands-on inspection, and collaborative problem-solving. The ideal candidate can confidently read engineering prints and accurately use measuring equipment to verify product conformance.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, inspection plans, and control methods for rotational molding processes

Interpret and analyze technical drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications

Perform dimensional and visual inspections using measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM (if applicable)

Create and maintain inspection reports, SPC charts, and non-conformance documentation

Lead root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, PFMEA) and coordinate corrective and preventive actions

Support new product launches through APQP and PPAP activities

Monitor in-process and final product quality, identifying trends and improvement opportunities

Conduct process audits and layered process reviews

Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance to resolve quality issues and optimize processes

Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and defects

Ensure compliance with ISO/QMS and customer specific requirements

Assist in training production employees on quality requirements and inspection methods

Maintain document control and revision accuracy for quality records
Required Skills & Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints

Proficient in using measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, height gauges, gauges, and other inspection tools)

Working knowledge of SPC, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies

Experience in plastic manufacturing, preferably in rotational molding

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

Ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams

Basic computer skills (Excel, inspection/reporting software)
