Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation of our production facilities. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining equipment, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and leading a team of skilled technicians.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with diverse machines and equipment, such as hand and power tools, and drill presses saws in carrying out maintenance and repair tasks.
  • General housekeeping of maintenance/spare parts/equipment areas
  • Ensure spare parts/components are received and stored in an efficient and economical manner, and maintain required records in conformance with company policy
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure the team meets performance targets and adheres to safety protocols.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of plastic rotational molding machines and associated equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential issues before they impact production.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
  • Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery.
  • Create and maintain a schedule for routine maintenance tasks.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with procurement to source and acquire necessary parts and equipment.
  • Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members.
  • Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery/equipment to diagnose malfunctions
  • Work scheduled overtime as required – projects, special tasks as assigned
  • Coordination and communication with other departments and personnel as required
  • Be compliant with safety standards in accordance with company policy
  • Respond to all inter-company correspondence as required
  • Ability to be a leader and create a team environment with team members
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent Communication/Interpersonal Skills (Verbal & Written)
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Strong ability to work alone or with little supervision
  • Ability to determine causes of errors and be able to resolve them

Physical Requirements:

Position includes, walking, standing, lifting to 50lbs and working in a production setting.
